Professional | Thinking in Bets | Thinking in Bets: Making Smarter Decisions When You Don't Have All the Facts by Annie Duke | Goodreads |
Professional | Pyramid Principle | The Pyramid Principle: Logic in Writing and Thinking by Barbara Minto | Goodreads |
Recently, my professional work was on a strategic project that is extremely ambiguous (yeah, it's again with LLMs) with an ambitious timeline. One challenge I was facing is that a flood load decision needs to be made in a very short turnaround time. It's different from before, where I could have the benefit of time to think it through or the benefit of resources where we could amortize the risks. One challenge is definitely how to simplify rather than be more thorough or comprehensive.
Here is the reading list that hopefully could help in those cases: one is published by a poker player on making decisions, and another one is about having a simplified logic.
